Oak Contracting Awarded Walter S. Mills-Parole Elementary School Modernization Project

Anne Arundel County Public Schools has chosen Oak Contracting to serve as construction manager for the Walter S. Mills-Parole Elementary School modernization project. The existing building will receive a complete renovation. There will also be major additions to the existing structure.

The project is being designed by TCA Architects. Construction will begin in spring of 2013. The entire project is anticipated to be completed by summer 2015.

Oak Contracting to Oversee $20 million Replacement of North Frederick Elementary School

Frederick County Public Schools has chosen 
Oak Contracting to serve as construction manager for the $20-million North Frederick Elementary School replacement project. The existing school will be completely demolished and a new 92,000 SF school will be built. The new school will increase student capacity from 518 to 700.

The project is being designed by Grimm + Parker Architects. Design will continue through spring of 2013 with construction beginning in June 2013. The project is anticipated to have a 22 to 24-month duration.

Oak Contracting to Oversee $98 Million Replacement of Severna Park High School

Anne Arundel County Public Schools has chosen 
Oak Contracting to serve as construction manager for the $98-million Severna Park High School replacement project. The existing school will be completely demolished and a new 334,000 SF school will be built. The new school will increase student capacity from 1,923 to 2,099.

The project is being designed by GWWO Architects. Design will continue through spring of 2013 with construction beginning in June 2013. The entire project is anticipated to be completed by August 2017.

Oak Adopts Local Family for Christmas

For the seventh straight year, Oak adopted a family in need for Christmas. In lieu of an inter-office Secret Santa or gift exchange, employees donated gifts, clothing, and cash to help make a family’s Christmas morning a time of happiness and celebration. [Read more...]

Seven Locks Elementary School

The new Seven Locks Elementary School completely replaces the former facility on the existing site. Students will move back into the school in January 2012.

Ridgeview Middle School

This project entails the renovation of the existing school utilizing a phased-occupied schedule.

Lincoln Elementary School

This project, seeking a LEED Silver rating, will demolish approximate 56% of Building “B”, leaving only the historic Lincoln High School portion. The historic portion of the building will then be renovated and an addition constructed that will allow the entire school to be housed in one building with a state rated capacity of 659 student. During construction, the students and staff of the “B” building will be relocated across the street to the “A” building and portables. Following the reconstruction of the “B” building, the entire school will be located in the new building on the “B” site.

Bellows Spring Elementary School

This project entails additions to the existing school which include new classrooms and alterations to common spaces. Construction is taking place while the school remains operational.

Germantown Elementary School

The new Germantown Elementary School will replace the existing school on an adjacent corner of the same site. The new school will open in August 2011.

G.W. Carver Center for Arts & Technology

This new comprehensive high school will completely replace the existing school with a state-of-the-art facility, including media center, science labs, performing arts center, and gymnasium. The new GW Carver Center for Arts and Technology is being constructed on an occupied campus alongside the existing high school, making safety of students and staff paramount. The new facility will open in August 2011 at which time the existing facility will be removed.
