The new Seven Locks Elementary School completely replaces the former facility on the existing site. Students will move back into the school in January 2012.
Ridgeview Middle School
This project entails the renovation of the existing school utilizing a phased-occupied schedule.
Lincoln Elementary School
This project, seeking a LEED Silver rating, will demolish approximate 56% of Building “B”, leaving only the historic Lincoln High School portion. The historic portion of the building will then be renovated and an addition constructed that will allow the entire school to be housed in one building with a state rated capacity of 659 student. During construction, the students and staff of the “B” building will be relocated across the street to the “A” building and portables. Following the reconstruction of the “B” building, the entire school will be located in the new building on the “B” site.
Bellows Spring Elementary School
This project entails additions to the existing school which include new classrooms and alterations to common spaces. Construction is taking place while the school remains operational.
Germantown Elementary School
The new Germantown Elementary School will replace the existing school on an adjacent corner of the same site. The new school will open in August 2011.
G.W. Carver Center for Arts & Technology
This new comprehensive high school will completely replace the existing school with a state-of-the-art facility, including media center, science labs, performing arts center, and gymnasium. The new GW Carver Center for Arts and Technology is being constructed on an occupied campus alongside the existing high school, making safety of students and staff paramount. The new facility will open in August 2011 at which time the existing facility will be removed.
Herbert Hoover Middle School
The new Herbert Hoover Middle School building will be LEED Silver certified and is 171,410 SF. This project entails a complete replacement of the existing facility with the exception of a classroom addition from 2000 that will remain. The modernized school will accommodate 1020 students, with core spaces designed for future expansion to 1200 students.
