TOWSON, MD (February 25, 2010) - Montgomery County Public Schools has selected Oak Contracting as for the $40-million Herbert Hoover Middle School modernization project. The existing school will be completely demolished and recycled with the exception of a 20,000 SF addition built ten years ago. The new school is being designed by Moseley Architects and will be modeled in 3D using Building Information Modeling software. The design phase is expected to continue through early 2011, at which time it will go out to bid.
Oak Contracting has a long-standing relationship with Montgomery County Public Schools having renovated, constructed additions, or built replacement schools valued over $180 million in the past ten years. Currently Oak Contracting is serving as construction manager on Cresthaven Elementary School, Seven Locks Elementary School, and Ridgeview Middle School.
