Mid-Atlantic Construction - Top Contractors
McGraw Hill Companies, Spring 2010 Issue

TOWSON, MD (April 1, 2010) - Despite the recession, 2009 proved to be a banner year for Oak Contracting of Towson, Md., as revenue increased to $164 million from $91 million in 2008.

Dominick J. Dunnigan, director of marketing for Oak Contracting, attributes that success to building relationships that gain repeat clients and a K-12 market that was not hit as hard economically as other segments.

“The money and the spending are still there” in building schools, Dunnigan says.

Oak constructs schools, churches and university projects throughout the state. In 2009, the company built the $66.7 million, 262,424 SF Bel Air replacement high school; the $71.3 million, 268,354 SF Edgewood High School; and the $24.3 million, 103,052 SF Deerfield Elementary School all in Harford County. It continues working on the $62.3 million, 266,046 SF Linganore High School in Frederick, Md., and began sitework on the $59.2 million, 227,971 SF George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology in Baltimore.

Oak Contracting was listed as a top contractor in Mid-Atlantic Construction's spring 2010 issue, published by the McGraw Hill Companies. Overall, Oak Contracting ranked 35th out of 75 firms. For Maryland Top Contractors Oak ranked 6th and for Top Educational Facilities Contractors Oak ranted 3rd.
