(November 6, 2007) - Douglas W. Eder is President of Oak Contracting, a leading construction management firm in Maryland and this year's recipient of the Building Congress & Exchange of Metropolitan Baltimore's President's Award.

The Building Congress & Exchange President's Award is a prestigious award presented to an individual personally selected by the Association's president. The award recipient is someone who has tirelessly exemplified remarkable allegiance to and enthusiasm for the Association. President Rich Croke knew that Doug Eder definitely “fit the bill”.

Doug Eder continually demonstrates unwavering support to the Building Congress & Exchange. He is an active member of the Association's Board of Directors and currently serves as Board Liaison to the Membership Committee. In 2006, Doug was Chairman for the Annual Shrimp & Bull Roast - one of the Association's most successful events.

This year, when a construction management team was needed to co-ordinate the construction of the Building Congress & Exchange's new conference room, Doug was quick to volunteer.
Under his direction and after countless hours and numerous “visits” to the BC&E office, Building Congress & Exchange volunteers now enjoy an expansive conference room and meeting space. And, while BC&E's conference room was under construction, Doug welcomed all of BC&E's committees at Oak Contracting offices, graciously providing his conference room and hospitality for the Association's use.

In addition, Doug recognizes that personal growth comes with community giving and industry involvement. He readily encourages his employees to become active within the Association.
