TOWSON, MD (July 17, 2009) - Ron Long, a project superintendent with Oak Contracting, will be a 30-year Oak veteran tomorrow! His first day at Oak Contracting was July 18, 1979 as a CDL truck driver. Thirty years later, Ron has worked on over one million square feet of construction projects worth hundreds of millions of dollars!
In the past decade, Ron has built over 300,000 SF of comprehensive laboratory, office, classroom, education, and support spaces for Johns Hopkins University totaling over $73 million in new construction, additions, renovations, and lab fit-outs, including bio safety labs for AIDS and Malaria research. He recently completed a $10.5 million renovation and addition to St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Libertytown, originally built in 1869. Ron is currently in the home stretch of a 2-story classroom addition and expansion of common areas at Elkridge Elementary School.
