Oak Contracting hires Scott McGovern, AIA, LEED AP as Project Manager

(October 19, 2009) - Oak Contracting is pleased to welcome Scott McGovern, AIA, LEED AP to their team as Project Manager. Scott brings 20 years of progressively diversified experience to the team. After earning his Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech, he devoted 15 years of his career to Frederick Ward Associates contributing to all phases of the profession including design, client relations, marketing, production, cost estimating, specification development, staff management, and construction administration. More recently, Scott served as a project manager for Brown Craig Turner and Senior Associate for Design Collective, Inc. Scott is also active in the community having recently served on the Board of Directors for the Building Congress & Exchange and a 2004 graduate of the Harford Leadership Academy. He is also the Treasurer and past Secretary for the Building Congress & Exchange Foundation and President of the Anneslie Community Association. His first assignment at Oak is the new Germantown Elementary School project for Anne Arundel County Public Schools. This $20 million project will commence in the spring of 2010 and be completed in July 2011. The new facility is being built on the same site as the existing school.
