FREDERICK, MD (December 30, 2009) - Joe Dattoli, Frederick County Public Schools Director of Construction Management, recently hosted “Team Linganore” of the ACE (Architecture, Construction, and Engineering) Mentor Program Frederick. The student team is participating in a national competition to “design the ideal school.” The field trip to the construction site of the new Linganore High School provided insight into the design and construction process, revealing issues that the typical user – students and teachers – would not be aware of. Team member, Andrew Manny, said of the trip, “I learned a lot about things we will have to consider in our design, such as HVAC locations and fireproofing methods. We all took plenty of notes and we have a better understanding of what goes into school construction. All in all, it was a really neat experience.”
