Edgewood High School Owner: Harford County Public Schools Architect: Grimm + Parker Architects Square Footage: 268,354 Contract Type: CM Agency Value: $71,320,961
The new school opened on August 30, 2010. Over the summer, the abatement process began on the old school and demolition started in mid September.
The new Edgewood High School will completely replace the existing facility with a new state-of-the-art facility, including two 3-story academic wings, media center, science labs, performing arts center, gymnasium, and comprehensive athletic fields with artificial turf. The new high school is being constructed on an occupied campus alongside Edgewood Middle and Deerfield Elementary Schools and directly behind the existing high school, which will also remain operational during construction. Oak Contracting is concurrently replacing Deerfield Elementary School, making safety of students and staff the primary focus on this tight site.
