Oak Contracting was recently selected by Howard County Public Schools to serve in their pool of qualified construction managers. Oak's first assignment under this contract is the expansion of Bellows Spring Elementary School in Ellicott City, which originally opened in 2003. The expansion calls for four new classrooms and associated support spaces, the addition of art and music rooms, a 1000 SF expansion to the cafetorium, a PE activities room, an Assistant Principal Office, a COMAR/MSDE approved health suite, 100 additional parking spaces, replacement of the existing non-maintainable HVAC-ATC system, and the investigation of making necessary upgrades to the school's energy star ratings to improve energy use by 20%.
