Oak Contracting is committed to building high performance facilities that protect and conserve our environment. Site protection and control, construction waste management, construction indoor air quality control, and building commissioning are all standard practice at Oak and have been for many years, regardless of whether a project was seeking certification. In recent years, the interest in green building has extended to the Maryland General Assembly, where Governor Martin O’Malley submitted a bill that calls for all public school and state-funded construction projects of a certain size to obtain Silver-level LEED certification. As members of the United States Green Building Council, Oak has many LEED® Accredited Professionals on our team and continues to be at the forefront of changing the ways construction projects impact our environment.
