Edgewood High School

Owner: Harford County Public Schools
Architect: Grimm + Parker Architects
Square Footage: 268,354
Contract Type: CM Agency
Value: $71,320,961

The new school opened on August 30, 2010. Over the summer, the abatement process began on the old school and demolition started in mid September.

The new Edgewood High School completely replaces the existing facility with a new state-of-the-art facility, including two 3-story academic wings, media center, science labs, commercial foods lab, performing arts center, triple gymnasium, and comprehensive athletic fields with artificial turf. The new high school was constructed on an occupied campus alongside Edgewood Middle and Deerfield Elementary Schools and directly behind the existing high school, which remained operational during construction. Oak Contracting concurrently replaced Deerfield Elementary School, making safety of students and staff the primary focus on this tight site.
